Addiction Levels of Care

Recovery isn’t a straight line, and everyone will have a different experience. Because addiction can affect every area of an individual’s life, physical, emotional, and spiritual, it is important that your addiction treatment services also adjust with your growth throughout the recovery process.
Agape Treatment Center offers a full continuum of care based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM) criteria to meet your unique needs on your journey toward recovery. We combine evidence-based treatment with the warmth of a boutique, hospitality-centered environment to create a safe, dignified, and supportive experience for everyone.
We offer three levels of outpatient treatment options on-site to help clients achieve enduring freedom. While most will progress through all three levels of treatment, there is no predetermined timeline, and everyone’s progress will be determined by their readiness to step down into less intense treatment.

Day / Night Program (Partial Hospitalization Program)

Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), or “Day/Night Treatment,” is the most intensive outpatient treatment level we offer. PHP is designed for those who require close medical monitoring and intensive behavioral health rehabilitation but do not require 24-hour hospitalization. PHP is most appropriate for clients transitioning out of medical detox or who require significant stabilization before returning to everyday living.
PHP clients are scheduled to attend the facility for five to seven days per week for full-day treatment sessions. Treatment is provided in accordance with the Agape Treatment Center’s “Integrative Medicine” philosophy. Most mornings are spent in evidence-based therapy (CBT, DBT, EMDR) and afternoons are typically spent engaged in holistic practices (yoga, nutrition, biofeedback) promoting mind-body integration. The Day/Night structure allows clients to participate in treatment that works with their schedule, with both day and evening intensive therapy sessions available.

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is the bridge from intensive treatment to independent living. Once you have reached some stability, IOP is a step down from detoxification or PHP. IOP is designed for those who are ready to transition back into their daily routines, including employment, schooling, or family obligations, while still having access to a high level of clinical support.
IOP clients typically engage in three to five days of therapy per week for a varied length of time. The focus of IOP is to transition clients from acute stabilization to real-world practice. Group sessions are designed to facilitate discussion and experiential learning—such as managing stressful workdays or social pressure—to show you how to apply the skills and techniques learned in therapy and strengthen your relapse prevention plan.
IOP still provides individual therapy, medication management (if needed), and dual diagnosis support while helping you make the transition into sobriety. Less intensive than PHP, IOP provides clients with a “soft landing” and ongoing support from the Agape team.

Recovery is a lifelong process that doesn’t end after treatment. Agape’s outpatient treatment program serves as the maintenance phase of recovery. Although some clients may have completed treatment, the transition to living independently can present unanticipated challenges. This level of care provides clients with a consistent but less intensive connection to the Agape community and ensures that they will not have to navigate post-treatment alone. Typically, clients will check in for outpatient treatment one to two times per week. During these check-ins, they can continue to develop the foundation necessary to sustain their recovery as well as receive ongoing support as they work towards independent living.

For many clients, outpatient treatment provides a safety net through which clients will build an enduring support network. At the Agape Treatment Center, when clients leave, they have not left our care. Our outpatient services allow them to maintain the bond of family with us while building a life that they are excited to begin living.

Alcoholism

Alcohol dependence can lead to social isolation and frayed family ties. We use a combination of health care services, including behavioral therapy and MAT, to restore balance

Cocaine

Cocaine addiction needs an intensive level of behavioral treatment due to the strong psychological urges it causes.

Meth

Methamphetamine use can have disastrous effects on individuals both psychologically and physically. We take a dual-diagnosis approach to help heal both the body and mind simultaneously.

Prescription Drugs

Whether it’s pain relievers or sedatives, we assist you in overcoming the vicious cycle of prescription drug abuse and dependency.

Opioids

The opioid epidemic requires urgent intervention using evidence-based practices. We employ both MAT and trauma therapy for significant, long-term recovery.

Vicodin

The majority of hydrocodone (Vicodin) addiction cases begin with a prescription. We provide a safe pathway to manage pain without the use of narcotics.

Fentanyl

Fentanyl is a strong synthetic opiate that represents a tremendous risk for dependent individuals. Our medical staff uses constant monitoring to help individuals recover safely.

Kratom

The marketing of Kratom as a “natural” product has created many unintentional dependencies. We aim to treat the underlying reasons for Kratom use.

Heroin

Recovery from heroin use requires having a caring, non-judgmental environment to help address both the physical withdrawal and emotional reasons behind use.

Adderall

Adderall misuse can lead to dependency, anxiety, sleep disruption, and emotional instability. We address this through behavioral therapy, medical oversight, and dual-diagnosis treatment to restore focus, balance, and healthy functioning.

Inhalants

Inhalant abuse can cause serious neurological, respiratory, and psychological damage. We provide structured behavioral treatment and comprehensive mental health support to address both the physical risks and underlying emotional triggers behind inhalant use.

Marijuana

We assist marijuana users who are unmotivated and unable to engage in the activities of daily living by helping them rediscover their natural motivation and clarity.

Club Drugs

Club drugs such as MDMA, GHB, and ketamine can impair judgment and create dangerous patterns of compulsive use. We combine trauma-informed therapy, relapse prevention, and holistic healing to help clients recover safely and rebuild stability in their lives.

Benzodiazepines

Withdrawal from Xanax or Valium should be closely monitored by a trained medical team. We help with gradual tapering and the development of skills to help manage anxiety.

Sleeping Pills

Sleeping pills can disrupt an individual’s regular sleep patterns and cycles. We provide holistic methods to help individuals develop regular sleep habits again.

How do you determine the proper level of care to meet my needs?

Our clinical admissions team is available 24/7 and will provide a comprehensive assessment of your substance abuse history, medical needs, and current living conditions to guide you to the safest and most effective starting point for your recovery journey.

Will my insurance pay for the various levels of care?

Yes, almost all major PPO plans and providers will cover substance abuse treatment, including PHP and IOP levels of care. Our clinical admissions team will quickly verify your benefits—usually within minutes—to provide you with clarification on your coverage and potential out-of-pocket costs associated with treatment.

Can I keep working while I'm in treatment?

It depends upon your treatment plan. Our PHP program requires you to be committed full-time to the program and will require your daytime hours. IOP allows for more flexible scheduling to work around your job, school, and/or family obligations.

Do you treat dual diagnoses at all levels of care?

Yes, we are a dual diagnosis treatment facility and will treat co-occurring disorders, including mental health issues like anxiety, depression, and PTSD throughout your entire course of treatment, so you will receive truly integrated care.
